She was raised by her mother after her parents divorced when she was four, in an average, low-income household. Growing up she attended a magnet school in Louisiana and was the editor of her high school paper and president of the 4-H club.
The lack of money lead her to start stripping when she was 17 at a club in Baton Rouge, which eventually took her to become a feature performer in September 2000. It was while doing so that she met Devon Michaels who invited Daniels to accompany her to a couple lesbian scenes she was doing. It was in a scene for Sin City’s “American Girls Part 2” when she made her debut, co-starring Devon and kicking off a skyrocketing career.
She chose her stage name to reflect her love of Mötley Crüe, whose bassist, Nikki Sixx, named his daughter Storm. Under that name she began doing only lesbian scenes until July 2002 when she was cast as the lead in the Wicked Pictures film “Heat” where she did her first scene with a man. Later that year she signed with Wicked and in 2004 she won the AVN Best New Starlet Award. Since that year she has also directed for Wicked and she’s still their leading performer. She has done with them most of her 134 acting movies and all the 32 directing credits she has made so far.
Apart from her acting and directing, Stormy has appeared in all the top men’s magazines, including Playboy, Hustler and Penthouse, and has also written for FHM. She has also made some cameo appearances in mainstream movies like “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” and “Knocked Up” and in the fifth episode of the Starz show “Party Down”.
In her personal life she is married to Mike Moz, a publicist. In 2009 Stormy was arrested in Tampa after an assault on him, allegedly because the “laundry wasn’t done properly”, although she claimed she didn’t actually hit him but only “tossing a potted plant in the kitchen sink, throwing the couple's wedding album on the floor, and breaking some candles”.
Perhaps the most known aspect of her life, though, came in 2009 when a group of fans attempted to recruit her to run against Republican Senator David Vitter for Louisiana. After making several listening tours around the state focusing on the economy as well as women in business and child protection, she announced in April 2010 she wouldn’t be running for Senate, saying she couldn’t afford a run for the Senate seat and that nobody really took her candidacy seriously.
So there you go, we almost had a porn actress as a United States Senator! Luckily for us all she has decided to keep acting and never got to fulfill her promise of quitting porn if she got elected!
