She started her career in porn quite late in her life when she was 31 years old in 1990. Before that she was an actress in several B-movies like 1987’s “Creepozoids”, but her fame came when she started shooting porn, although she kept acting in mainstream. For example, in 1995 and 1996 she acted in the TV series “Space: Above and Beyond” and also appeared in episodes of “Silk Stalkings” and “Millenium” and in the films “The One” and “Willard”.
Ashlyn’s porn life was very successful. She ended her career having been featured in 193 porn titles and had directed two by herself (“Faith Betrayed” and “Inheritance” both in 1999). During her career she acted for some of the big names of the industry in the 90s, mainly VCA and Vivid, as well as having releases for Extreme Associates, Dreamland Entertainment, Fat Dog and Caballero Home Video.
Her last film was shot in 2003, “Barbara Broadcast Too” from VCA, and after that she retired from porn to focus on her family, as she’s married and is the mother of two. But her legacy as a pornstar lingers on, as her performances in front of a camera haven’t been forgotten, as Ashlyn managed to perform all sort of things, from lesbian and solo to anal and double penetration, interracial and non sex films.
However, the achievement that stands out in her life is the fact that she went from X-rated films to “The X-Files”, as she was casted to act in one of the most popular 90s TV shows, appearing as Bonnie McRoberts in the episode “BLOOD”, becoming one of the first women to go from porn to mainstream acting.
Nonetheless, her biggest success was in porn, where her acting skills and sexual performances granted several accolades as well as being inducted in both the AVN and the XRCO Hall of Fame.
